... and that so many more beautiful babes are reading their labels and shopping with a conscious, we dig you girl.

This post is all about meeting the makers, showing you behind the scenes so that you know that when you communicate with us and shop with us you are talking to real people, and supporting a product that has been thoughtfully created and made with so much love and passion by women who LOVE what they do.

 

We are a teeny tiny all female team, but we like to think we pack a punch with what we do ;)

"My story goes like this...

I started loving sewing as a child because I admired my aunt at the sewing machine...

I always enjoyed watching her cutting out patterns and then sewing the garment... the whole process from cutting to having a finished garment just intrigued me...

I then went to high school where I was doing fashion and fabrics as a practical subject which became one of my favourite subjects...ever since then I have always loved sewing but lacked confidence in myself so when I finished high school I kind of forgot about sewing until I met this one awesome lady (Hazel Sayer) who loves sewing and she taught me most of the things I know about sewing now and boosted my confidence in sewing...

I've loved sewing even more since I met her and what makes sewing enjoyable for me is the satisfaction I get seeing a finished project... and also the creating part. 

Not necessarily being creative, just creating something from scratch until it's finished... seeing people wearing and loving what I make is the reason I'll always stay on the machine."

"As young as 4 years old I started picking up 'lappies' from the lady across the street... She worked from home doing alterations and making clothes in her Wendy house.

That's the first time I fell in love with sewing. As I saw her working so passionately on the sewing machine it made me look up to her... when I was in grade 6 she asked me to help her to sew on buttons and put in hems as a start...

Everyday as I was busy I would look over her shoulder to see how she worked on the machine since my love for sewing was impossible to stop... while all my friends were outside playing I was in my room with a needle and cotton... after that I started making my own clothes and started working from home. 

This lady Aunt Jenny has been a great mentor and inspiration to me... she taught me what no one else could have and for that I'll be eternally grateful... the most beautiful thing is to feel proud and happy with the creation you've made."
